Our Mission
The Lost in Immigration Society intends to preserve the art and cultural heritage of South Asian immigrant families in Canada. It is passionately dedicated to promoting, showcasing, and building an awareness of the arts and artists whose heritage lies in the performing arts, visual arts, culinary arts, literary arts, folk arts of the Indian subcontinent.
Our Goals
•Building an awareness of South Asian artistic disciplines in Canada.
•Fundraising and sponsoring artist’s activities.
•Functioning as a central clearing house of funds for various art forms and artistic disciplines.
•Providing a podium to showcase artistic events in the disciplines.
•Fostering an interest, aware, and educated audience.
•Acting as a service and resource centre for South Asian art, artists, and arts organizations.
•Compiling directories of artists in each of the artistic disciplines.
•Having our own working space.
•Having regular outreach programs to schools and colleges.
•Encouraging young artists to present their work.
•Creating a network for all the various artistic disciplines to share information and ideas.
•Developing a network to enables exchange of artists and arts related information between the Indian
subcontinent and Canada.
