Project Roti Pani.
Preserving the Flavors of Heritage for Future Generations
Welcome to Project Roti Pani, an initiative by the Lost in Immigration Society to preserve and celebrate the rich culinary heritage of South Asian immigrant families in Canada. We are creating an online library and museum dedicated to documenting and sharing family recipes that carry deep cultural significance, along with the stories behind them, to help future generations connect with their roots.
Our project involves gathering recipes from families across Canada, each enriched with its unique cultural background. These recipes will be freely accessible in our online library and featured in a documentary that brings to life the personal stories and traditions behind the dishes. We’re also hosting pop-up kitchen events in Vancouver, offering the community a taste of these treasured recipes.
If your family has South Asian heritage and you’re interested in participating, we’d love to hear from you. Please share your recipes and stories by filling out the form below. Join us in building this online museum and ensuring our culinary traditions endure for future generations!
